Our History

Sale Cricket Club was established in 1854 and has a long history in Lancashire and Cheshire Cricket, from winning the inaugural Manchester & District Stockton Trophy in 1920 through to competing successfully in the Cheshire Pyramid in recent seasons.

Cricket For All

We have enjoyed the prestigious Clubmark status since 2005, ensuring our club is "safe and child friendly" and has an open membership policy. Senior nets take place on a Thursday evening from 6pm. Girls Cricket coaching takes place at the same time as Boys coaching, on Monday evenings, from 6pm. Please come along and give it a go, we make all new members welcome!

New Developments

The last decade has seen major developments at the club, including the addition of a 4-bay net facility in 2006 and the relaying of the entire cricket square between 2007 and 2008, both funded by the ECB Community Club Development Fund. We now have one of the largest and best-kept grounds in the North West.

Playing Strength

Our playing strength is stronger than ever. We field three senior teams and an Over 40's team in The Vivio Cheshire County League. The 1st XI compete in the 1st division and the 2nd and 3rd XI will be pushing for promotion in 2014. All Senior and Junior Members should pay their annual subscriptions here.

We also have a thriving junior section, delivering coaching in local schools  and fielding teams from under 9 to under 16 in the South Manchester Junior Cricket League and Salford Youth Cricket Association as well as a girls team in the Cheshire Girls Cricket League,  You can follow all the club's results on our play-cricket site here.
