ECB CLUBMARK

Our history

Sale Cricket Club was established in 1854 and has a long history in Lancashire and Cheshire Cricket, from winning the inaugural Manchester & District Stockton Trophy in 1920 through to competing successfully in the Cheshire Pyramid in recent seasons.

Cricket for all

We have enjoyed the prestigious Clubmark status since 2005, ensuring our club is “safe and child friendly” and has an open membership policy. Senior nets take place on a Thursday evening from 6pm. Girls Cricket coaching takes place from 5pm on a Monday evening, followed by Boys coaching from 6pm. Please come along and give it a go, we make all new members welcome!

New developments

The last decade has seen major developments at the club, including the addition of a 4-bay net facility in 2006 and the relaying of the entire cricket square between 2007 and 2008, both funded by the ECB Community Club Development Fund. We now have one of the largest and best-kept grounds in the North West.

Playing strength

Our playing strength is stronger than ever. We field 4 senior teams and an Over 40’s team in The Chapel Press Cheshire County League cheshirecountycl.play-cricket.com. With promotions in 2010 the 1st XI compete in the 1st division and the 3rd XI play in the top division of the Sunday competition.
