What's On Update - 02/03/20

March already! Where does time go!

The cricketers came out of hibernation over the weekend and held a fantastic Motown Night organised by Tom Reilly. It was really well attended with a successful auction and raffle that added to the fun of the evening. Well done Tom!

We are in the last couple of weeks of the season for the hockey teams. A few games to catch up on with the poor weather we have had in recent weeks. The culmination of the regular season is the Hockey Presentation night on Saturday 28th March followed the following Saturday (4th April) with the Mixed Hockey Tournament played on an unusual surface called grass here at the Club. See your Captains for details.

Spartans have two home games this Saturday so along with the hockey teams another full Clubhouse is anticipated over the weekend. The next round of the 6 Nations Rugby will also be on the TV on Saturday.

This Friday we have the Stand Up Comedy Night. If you haven't experienced a comedy night live before, it is a very good night. The comedians we have for this Friday have a great reputation on the local and national circuit. A limited number of tickets are still available. It is pay on the door but please let me know if you are coming so we can manage the numbers on the night. manager@salesportsclub.com

On Saturday this week, we are co-hosting the Flat Pack Opera Company (FPOC) at The Avenue Methodist Church at 7.30 pm as they perform Cosi Fan Tutti.......but in English! The FPOC are dedicated to bring Opera to a wider audience. They have performed all round the North West to great reviews. Tickets are still available from dave@dwalmsley.co.uk

I met with the brewery a couple of weeks ago as part of our regular review. Marstons have implemented their annual price increase and it is only natural that we have had to look at our bar prices following this. Checking back, when the annual price review took place at this time 12 months ago, the Club didn't pass on the price rise given the delay in moving to the new Club. We have therefore implemented a small price rise across the board in our bar prices. I strongly believe they are still very competitive compared to the other establishments around the area.

Manchester Derby Sunday 8th March 2020 4.30pm kick off
City travel all the way to Stretford for the Manchester Derby on Sunday. It is a game that is available on Sky and we will be showing it on the big screeen here at the Club. Friendly banter only!

If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback, please let me know on manager@salesportsclub.com
