A big thank you to all those who attended the Quiz Night on Friday. It was great to see the Club so well supported by the sections and the neighbours. Well done to the FC Tigers (FC Sporting Sale Junior Football) team who pipped Agatha Quizteam (cricket section) and the Racqueteers (tennis section) by getting maximum points on the final round. Thanks to Dave Walmsley for setting the questions and being the man with the mic on the night.
We plan to have another quiz later in the year so keep revising!
There was interest on Friday from some of the attendees in what our next event is. On Friday 6th March we have the return of The Comedy Night at the Club. We have two comedians and an MC who will be on stage from 8.15 pm. The bar will be open from 7.00 pm so come along and you won't be disappointed. The 3 people involved all have great reputations on the local and national comedy circuit.
Whilst it is pay on the door, please let me know if you would like to come along so I can organise the seating.
The other event I would like to highlight again today, ahead of the sign up process starting, is being a marshal for the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 5th April 2020. I have mentioned before that as a Club, we have supported the marathon and half marathon by providing marshals around the location of our Club for the last few years. As the runners tell you as they sprint, run, jog or walk along, they wouldn't be able to have the event without us.As a marshal, the Club gets a sum of fundraising cash based on the number of volunteers it provides so the more volunteers, the more we raise to support your Club. The sign up process on the marathon website will be available over the next week or so. Please look out for it and sign up nominating Sale Cricket Club as the club you are supporting. This year we are on a different part of the route so it is envisaged that we will be needed on site from around 10.00 to 14.00 on the Sunday.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
