What's On Update

Hi all

At the weekend, we had a very busy Clubhouse with a great turn out to watch the Scotland v England game that saw an indifferent England triumph in very tough conditions and with a critical audience. Well done also to the Ladies Hockey section who organised a great karaoke evening after the rugby in which again there were many indifferent performances in very tough conditions and with a critical audience!

The next England match is on Sunday 23rd February against Ireland with a 3pm kick off. Pulled Pork Barms will be available during and after the match. Put it in the diary!

The Manchester Marathon is on Sunday 5th April 2020. We have supported both the full and half marathon in the past by providing marshals for the course, usually around the location of the Club. We will soon be sending out the registration link for marshals. For everyone that signs up to be a marshal, the Club receive a generous donation from the event organisers. Whilst you may not be running the event, you do get a sense of satisfaction.

Please keep an eye out for a separate email about a potential job opportunity here at the Club. I will send this out on a separate email.

We have a new exciting high energy exercise class starting on Monday 2nd March 2020.

Saturday 7th March - Flat Pack Opera Company @ The Avenue Methodist Church

Something a little different for your weekend. The Flat Pack Opera Company present Cosi Fan Tutti at The Avenue Methodist Church. The Church has fantastic acoustics for this one off event being perfomed by a professional opera company. Whilst it may not be for the purists, they will be performing one of Mozart's finest pieces in English. The literal translation (according to Mr Y Ahoo) is "Women are like that". I will be going with an open mind to see my first opera!
