Sale Squirrels ended their season last week with a home victory against Trafford Metrovicks. Captain Tom Fenton and William Lightening opened the batting for Sale against some tricky bowling, with William in particular producing some excellent shots, including a very fine 4 – his first boundary for Sale.  Eoghan Walker and Noah Adams kept things moving, scoring 25 as a pair, including two excellent boundaries for Eoghan.  The experienced pair of Jacob Clearly and Taha Chaudhry then stepped in the further accelerate the run rate, scoring 34 for no loss, with Jacob hitting four boundaries to top score the day with 20.  The Sale innings was wrapped up by Harsimar Rekhi and Kavya Panchal, scoring a comfortable 16, leaving Sale on a healthy total of 273.
Trafford batted well, but were consistently pinned back by some excellent bowling throughout the Sale team.  Particular mention should go to William Lightening for taking his first 2 wickets for Sale, along with 2 each for Kavya and Eoghan and 1 each for Noah and Jacob.  Trafford ended their innings on 263, leaving Sale the victors by 10 runs.  That ended Sale Squirrels’ season with a fantastic 6 victories and only 2 losses, founded on some excellent individual and team performances throughout.  Huge congratulations to the players, and thanks to all the parents for their support.  Looking forward to the next season already…
